and opened one of my Christmas presents...at the urging of my husband, that is. He can NEVER wait for me to be surprised. I find it charming:) I received a UPS package last night and opened it to find a Sony Reader-PRS 700...say what???
It's similar to Amazon's "Kindle" in that you can store and read hundreds of books on it; an electronic, carry anywhere and everywhere book. I recently got to look at a "Kindle"...thank you SP, and given the brief time I've spent with both products I think they're both pretty slick (HA...that's a Dad"ism") Anyhoo, I'm about to load some books and really see what this baby can do...only drawback...you have to plug in the Reader to a PC in order to download books, whereas the "Kindle" is on its own wicked cool network or something where you can order books at the touch of a button without plugging it in. The Reader is smaller and sleeker, though...no offense, SP!! Wish me technological godspeed;)

I thought about getting a Kindle but they are sold out. Apparently Oprah started using one and said something about it and they were gone like the wind.
I wanted a Kindle really bad for Christmas or my birthday which is just a few weeks after Christmas...maybe the Sony Reader would do. I always read 5-6 books at a time and it's a pain to carry ALL of them around at the same time. This would be perfect!!!!

I hear these gadgets (Kindle,etc.) are great for heavy readers...especially at airport-packing time! Me? I'm still too old-fashioned...love the way a new book's binding cracks when I open it. :)
