Classy Nostalgia

Earlier today, at my family reunion, we were looking at a slideshow of old pictures. One of them was a picture, circa 1950's probably, of a cousin-in-law. She wore rhinestone glasses, the poofy dress and all. Regarding her picture, she embarassingly commented that back then she thought she was, "the cat's meow". I love sayings like that...they sound so much better than, "the bomb" or "hot"...ya know?

Also, while walking behind some wise women on my way into the baby shower they were pointing out some flowers to one another, rose moss, actually, and one of their sentences began, "Well, I declare..."! Again, sounds so much better than..."Dude" or "Sweet"!
