'The Courage to Teach'

I'm currently on page 35 of Parker J. Palmer's book. I was meant to read this book now, at this point in my very young career. Already, the man has clarified and even defined so many of the doubts, uncertainties and fears I've had regarding teaching students who deserve the best. And speaking of whispering revelations, the following excerpt is amazing: "...the salvation of this human world lies nowhere else than in the human heart, in the human power to reflect, in human meekness and in human responsibility. Without a global revolution in...human conciousness, nothing will change for the better, and the catastrophe toward which this world is headed...will be unavoidable." These aren't Parker's words, but those of Vaclav Havel, former president of the Czech Republic. Something to think about.
