I Wonder

I take BabyGirl to Mother's Day Out in Decatur every Thursday now, and on my way to that wonderful program at the First Baptist Church I pass by a sign outside the Church of Christ on the opposite side of the street. The sign reads, "Free Conversational English Classes", followed by a phone number. Doesn't one need to be able to recognize/read/comprehend some English before being able to read the sign that offers to teach them just that? Maybe their English speaking friends will tell them, or maybe, just maybe, the sign should be printed in English and Spanish...ya know, just in case.

WHAT THE HELL IS MOTHERS DAY OUT

Well, Anon 10:30, since you asked so nicely, it's a twice weekly daycare program, from 9-3. It's convenient for part time workers or stay at home moms. You can drop off your child, and they have all kinds of age appropriate activities for the various classes. Then, Mom, Dad, Grandma, whomever, can get their shopping, cleaning, errands, etc. done quickly while the little one is in good hands.
