Cartoons

My mom and I were watching cartoons with Baby Girl yesterday. We tuned in to a couple of classic cartoon families, The Jetsons and Flintstones. Watching from an adult perspective is quite different. For example, in the Jetsons intro I noticed that daughter Judy gave Dad George a smoking pipe as he came home from work. That'd never show up in today's cartoons, kiddie or tween. Then, on the Flintstones, Barney and Betty were so upset because they couldn't have a baby, and the entire episode was centered around that and their attempt to adopt Bam-Bam. Sidenote: I, for one, didn't know Bam-Bam was adopted. Point being, they don't make them like they used to, and well, maybe that's a good thing. Baby Girl is pretty much a PBS/KERA girl...Clifford, Sesame Street and SuperWhy, those are her favs...sharing, reading and counting; that'll do for now:)
