That's me!! Who needs instruction manuals or an MIT degree to set up their Internet?...not me:) I sat down this morning, looked from this plug to that, from this filter to that, and if it fit...that's where it went, and voila! I am currently tap, tap, tappin' away on my own laptop with our own Internet service. My sense of accomplishment is sadly overwhelming!!

I'm seriously impressed!!! That rat's nest of wires, modems, filters and such had me pulling my hair out for a few days until I got our hard-wired desktop hooked up and all 4 laptops wirelessly connected. A few days afterwards I found out that TWO (super-nice) Embarq guys live in our neighborhood and would have been happy to help me out. Oh well, at least I know where to go when all hell breaks loose or it goes off-line.
So im guessing you got your DSL cable cause after that its pretti simple. ATOM
ATOM...not so anonymous...I didn't need another cable. I didn't even use that yellow one...just used the blue Ethernet one, then plugged the regular phone cable from the Embarq modem into the regular phone jack...amazzzzing:) My wireless router's working too...woohoo.
